DENVER, CO – March 31, 2009 – Legal networks have a new tool for their belts. Today, an application called TweetLaw was released for the legal community’s tweeters. TweetLaw.com is a website that aggregates tweets from members of the legal community and separates them into specific areas of legal interest.

According to Nielsen Online, Twitter experienced a 1,382 percent year-over-year growth in February 2009. There are an estimated seven million twitter users.

“As use of Twitter continues to grow, so does the importance for the legal community to quickly share and obtain new information,” said Co-founder Trent Carlyle. “TweetLaw will allow legal Tweeters to instantly share new information and network.”

TweetLaw allows its users to have an extended profile without character limitations, and gives users the ability to specify their area of the law.

Members of the legal community who are already Twitter members can quickly sign up to include their tweets in up to four specific TweetLaw categories. They also can create a more detailed profile of themselves, and promote their business.

Using TweetLaw.com will allow Twitter users to network and follow attorneys, paralegals, legal librarians, court reporters, legal journalists and more. Many categories of users, such as attorneys, are broken down into specific areas of the law such as cyber law, family law and contract law. The user has the ability to read tweets by legal specialty, or read all legal tweets at once.

Not familiar with Twitter? Twitter is a service for people to communicate and stay connected. Tweets are quick, frequent answers to one simple question: “What are you doing?”
